AN ACT

 

making an appropriation to the department of veterans' services for the pearl harbor memorial.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; Pearl Harbor memorial; purpose

A.  Notwithstanding the limitations on donations in section 41-608, Arizona Revised Statutes, the sum of $69,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2006-2007 to the department of veterans' services for deposit in the veterans' donations fund established by section 41-608, Arizona Revised Statutes, to be transferred and deposited in the national Pearl Harbor memorial fund.

B.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section represents one dollar for each Arizona serviceman and servicewoman who served in uniform during World War II.  The monies are intended for use to build a national memorial museum and visitor center in Honolulu, Hawaii to honor the veterans of World War II and for which Dr. Ronald D. Sugar serves as national campaign chairman.
