Appropriates $171,750.68 from the state general fund and $12,554.75 from other funds to the Department of Administration (ADOA) for the payment of claims made against several state institutions.
Background
Each
year, a number of claims made against state agencies remain unpaid due to
inadequate documentation, late filings and searches for third party liability. Legitimate claims are paid in subsequent
fiscal years by ADOA on behalf of the agency named in the claim.
H.B. 2514 appropriates $171,750.68 from the state general fund and $12,554.75 from other funds to pay claims against the state incurred during FY 1998-1999 through FY 1999-2000.
Provisions
1. Transfers $511.45 from the technology and telecommunications fund to the state general fund to be appropriated to ADOA for payment on claims made against ADOA.
2. Appropriates $845.49 from the state general fund to ADOA for payment on claims made against ADOA.
3. Appropriates $5,526.66 from the state general fund to ADOA for payment on claims made against the Department of Juvenile Corrections.
4. Appropriates $9,643.08 from the state general fund to ADOA for payment on claims made against the Department of Health Services (DHS).
5. Transfers $1,816.24 from the newborn screening program fund to the state general fund to be appropriated to ADOA for payment on claims made against DHS.
6. Appropriates $4,900.00 from the state general fund to ADOA for payment on claims made against the Supreme Court.
7. Appropriates $150,835.45 from the state general fund to ADOA for payment on claims made against the Department of Corrections.
8. Transfers $10,227.06 from the telecommunications fund for the deaf to the state general fund to be appropriated to ADOA for payment on claims made against the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
9. Becomes effective on signature of the Governor.
