SUBJECT:       Proposed Guenther Strike Everything Amendment to S.B. 1274

                                                                                                                                                            

           

 

Purpose

 

            Makes technical corrections to the evaluation of competing lease applications for state lands and the appraisal of improvements on state lands.

 

 

Background

 

The State Land Department was established in 1915 to manage state trust land and resources to enhance value and optimize economic return for the trust beneficiaries.   To achieve this goal, the Department is authorized to lease, grant right of way on and sell state trust lands.

 

S.B. 1274 makes technical corrections to laws concerning the appraisal of improvements on leased state trust land, and competing lease applications for state trust land.

 

There is no known fiscal impact to the state general fund relating to the provisions of this bill.

 

Provisions

 

1.      Makes technical corrections.

 

2.      Provides for a general effective date.
