ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Phoenix, Arizona
private investigator
personal information; redaction
Allows a licensed private
investigator to request that the presiding superior court judge prohibit access
to the investigator’s personal information contained in public records and
voter registration records.
Statute allows some individuals, such as certain law enforcement and justice system employees and people in possession of orders of protection, to request the superior court to prohibit public access to personal information in government records if blocking personal information will reduce the potential for endangerment. Blocked information can include residential address, telephone number and voting precinct number. S.B. 1076 allows the superior court to block private investigators’ personal information contained in government records if so requested by the individual.
Any potential fiscal impact on the state general
fund is undetermined at this time.
