SB 1259 requires each health profession regulatory board to waive licensure or certification  renewal fees for health care professionals that are called to active duty at the time the fees are due.

 

Provisions

·          Allows a health professional to be granted a licensure or certification renewal fee waiver from any health professional regulatory board if the health professional is called to active duty at the time the fee is due, provided the health professional is a member of any of the following reserve categories:

Air Force

·          Category A, B or E.

·          Inactive ready reserve.

·          Retired reserve.

Navy

·          Selective reservist on inactive duty.

Marine

·          Selective corps reserves.

·          Individual ready reserves.

·          Retired reserve or retired officers.

Army

·          Selective reserve and either troop program unit or national army medical department augmentee detachment.

·          Individual mobilization augmentee.

·          Individual ready reserve.

·          Retired reserve.

Coast Guard

·          Ready reserve, standby reserve or retired reserve.
