SB 1228 re-establishes the Joint Legislative Tax Committee (JLTC) and mandates JLTC to review all tax expenditures.

 

There will be a proposed strike-everything amendment offered in the Military, Veterans’ Affairs & Aviation Committee.

 

The proposed strike-everything amendment to SB 1228 outlines provisions regarding the compatibility of new airport construction with military airports in the state. 

 

Provisions of the proposed strike-everything amendment

·          Requires the board to approve plans to build new airports only if they consider relevant criteria including compatibility with military airports.

·          Requires a political subdivision to notify military airports in this state before approving any airport project.

·          Specifies that the notice required in this section shall be provided by first class mail to the military airports at least 90 days in advance, in most cases, but under any circumstance, at lease twenty-one days in advance.

·          Establishes definitions for words relating to this section.
