SB 1190 allows an athletic trainer licensed in another jurisdiction to practice in Arizona for up to 90 days in any 12 month period.

 

History

Current law allows an athletic trainer residing and employed in another jurisdiction who satisfies the qualifications for licensure in Arizona to practice in Arizona for up to 60 days in any 12 month period.  However, the athletic trainer must be performing athletic training in Arizona in connection with teaching or participating in an educational seminar, or be employed to provide athletic training services to a bona fide professional, intercollegiate, interscholastic or amateur sports organization.

 

SB 1190 allows an athletic trainer from another jurisdiction, who is properly licensed and employed in that jurisdiction, to practice in Arizona for up to 90 days out of any 12-month period.

    

Provisions

·          Authorizes an athletic trainer residing and employed in another jurisdiction who possesses the required licensure, certification or registration necessary to practice in that jurisdiction, to practice in Arizona for a limited period of time.

·          Extends the amount of time that a properly licensed athletic trainer from another jurisdiction may practice in Arizona to not more than 90 days in any 12 month period.
