HB 2631 exempts employees and members of a school district governing board, a community college district governing board and the Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR) and public universities under ABOR from the lobbyist gift ban on entertainment, unless it is in the person’s official capacity.

 

History

Added by Laws 2000, Chapter 364, Section 4, statute prohibits a lobbyist from paying for the entertainment for a state officer or state employee.   Exempt from this prohibition are entertainment incidental to a speaking engagement and other entertainment in connection with a special event that is properly reported.

 

Provisions

·          Exempts employees and members of a school district governing board, a community college district governing board and ABOR and public universities under ABOR from the lobbyist gift ban on entertainment, unless it is within the person’s official capacity.

·          Makes technical and conforming changes.
