HB 2631 allows board members or employees of an educational institution to attend or participate in entertainment if the participation is related to the official duties of the person.

 

History

Added by Laws 2000, Chapter 364, Section 4, statute prohibits a lobbyist from paying for the entertainment for a state officer or state employee.   Exempt from this prohibition are entertainment incidental to a speaking engagement and other entertainment in connection with a special event that is properly reported.

 

Provisions

·          Exempts from the lobbyist gift ban on entertainment any board member or employee of an educational institution who attends or participates in entertainment at a facility owned and operated by the educational institution if participation is related to the official duties of the member or employee.

·          Defines the term educational institution.

·          Makes technical and conforming changes.
