HB 2625 prohibits a person from defacing, altering or placing a coating on a license plate issued by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

 

History

Currently a person is required to maintain an ADOT issued license plate on their vehicle so it is clearly legible and fastened to prevent the plate from swaying. According to law enforcement covers that are placed on a license plate may yellow over time and make the plate illegible. 

 

Provisions

·        Prohibits a person from defacing, altering or placing a coating on a license plate.

·        Prescribes a civil penalty of $150.00
