HB 2612 allows a countywide stadium district to appoint the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the county as the district treasurer.  It also allows the district treasurer to invest monies in the fund for a period of more than five years. 

 

History

Current statute provides that the county treasurer be designated ex officio as the treasurer of a countywide stadium district.  Current statute also provides that the district treasurer may invest and reinvest any unexpended monies in the fund in securities and deposits with a maximum maturity of five years. 

 

Provisions

·          Allows the board of directors of a countywide stadium district to appoint the CFO of the county as the district treasurer.

·          Allows the district treasurer to invest and reinvest monies in the fund, other than operating fund monies, in eligible investments with a maturity of greater than five years.
