HB 2592 eliminates the provision that allows owners to apply to the Department of Transportation for the unexpired portion of the fees and taxes paid on license plates upon surrender of the plates.

 

Current Status

HB 2592 failed to pass in the Military, Veterans’ Affairs & Aviation Committee.

 

A strike-everything amendment that relates to hunting, fishing or trapping on private lands will be offered in the Military, Veterans’ Affairs & Aviation Committee. 

 

Provisions of the proposed strike-everything amendment dated 3/18/02

·          Establishes that hunting, fishing or trapping on private lands is unlawful and subject to a civil action for trespassing unless written permission from the landowner or lessee is obtained.

·          Clarifies that the current statute regarding the posting of signboards is effective for state and federal lands.
