HB 2581 provides that on transfer from active status, a member of the National Guard who has completed the years of service required for eligibility for retired pay, shall receive a state flag at the expense of the National Guard.

 

Current History

HB 2581 passed the Military, Veterans’ Affairs & Aviation Committee unamended.

HB 2581 was withdrawn from Appropriations.  HB 2581 was amended in the Committee of the Whole to remove the provision that allows a member of the National Guard who has completed the years of service required for eligibility for retired pay, upon transfer from active duty, to receive a state flag at the expense of the National Guard.

 

Provisions

·          Allows the camp Navajo fund to receive monies for the storage of commodities and services provided from sources other than the government. 

·          Provides that on transfer from active status a member of the National Guard who has completed the years of service required for eligibility for retired pay, shall receive a state flag at the expense of the National Guard.

·          Clarifies existing language.

 

Amendments

HB 2581 was amended in the Committee of the Whole as follows:

·          Removes the provision that allows a member of the National Guard who has completed the years of service required for eligibility for retired pay, upon transfer from active duty, to receive a state flag at the expense of the National Guard.
