The Military Selective Service Act (50 USC appendix section 453) requires virtually all men who are at least 18 but not yet 26, to register with the Selective Service Administration.

Provisions

·        Allows a male who is under 18 but less than 26 years of age to check the box on a driver license or identification card application to indicate that they have registered with the affirm Selective Service Administration, and that the applicant authorizes MVD to forward the information to the Selective Service Administration.

·        Allows a male between sixteen and twenty-six years of age to check the box on a driver license or identification card application requesting that MVD forward the driver license application information to the Selective Service Administration for the purposes of registration.

·        Prohibits MVD from forwarding the applicant’s information to the Selective Service Administration if the box on the application is not checked.
