HB 2568 prohibits the Department of Motor Vehicle (DMV) from issuing a driver’s license or a non-operating identification license to a male person who is between 18 and 26 years of age and has not registered for selective service.

 

 

History

The Military Selective Service Act (50 USC appendix section 453) requires virtually all men who are at least 18 but not yet 26, to register with the Selective Service.

 

 

Provisions

·          Prohibits DMV from issuing a driver’s license or a non-operating identification license to a male person who is between 18 and 26 years of age and has not provided proof of registration for selective service.
