As Passed the House

HB 2507 replaces audiologist certification with licensure pursuant to ARS 36 chapter 17.

A strike-everything amendment will be offered in the Transportation Committee with the following provisions:

The strike-everything amendment changes the vehicle license tax (VLT) rate and registration fees for trailers over 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) based on the model year of the trailer and previous registration in this or any other state.

History

Laws 2001 chapter 154 established a one time registration and vehicle license tax fee for trailers or semitrailers exceeding 10,000 pound GVW. The law set the initial registration fee for trailers new to the state (whether previously registered or not) at $245.00, with a vehicle license tax of $555.00.  The registration renewal fee for trailers already registered in Arizona was set at $145.00, with a vehicle license tax of $355.00.  $180,000 was appropriated from the state highway fund in FY 2001-2002 to ADOT for implementation costs of the program.
