HB 2484 allows school districts and charter schools operating on an approved alternative calendar to count pupils as having attended full time if the pupil was enrolled in and physically attended at least 20 hours of instruction for the week.

 

Current Status

HB 2484 passed the Education Committee unamended.

 

History

Current statute allows school districts and charter schools to operate on an approved alternative calendar.  Funding for alternative calendars, as with traditional calendars, is based upon the attendance of pupils and is formula driven.

 

Provisions

·          Allows school districts and charter schools operating on an approved alternative calendar the authority to count pupils as having attended full time in any week for which the pupil was enrolled in and physically attended at least 20 hours of instruction that week.
