HB 2421 changes the school crime reporting requirements so that violent crimes and incidents that pose a threat to the safety or security of the students, teachers or administrators are reported to local law enforcement agencies.

 

History

Current statute requires a report to be filed with local law enforcement of any suspected crimes against persons or property and any incidents that could potentially threaten the safety or security of pupils, teachers or administrators.

 

Provisions

·          Amends the current reporting requirements of school district governing boards to report suspected crimes of violence that pose a credible threat to the safety or security of the students, teachers or administrators.

·          Makes technical and conforming changes.
