HB 2381 as passed by the Senate, allows for the use of a tournament video golf game in which the player competes against others and is eligible to win prizes.

Provisions

·              Adds a new exemption section to the criminal statutes, ARS §13-3313.

·              States that a tournament video golf game is lawful.

·              Defines tournament video golf game as a video game that is an interactive simulation of golf in which the player competes against others in a tournament for prizes.  In addition, the success of the game depends on the player’s skill and not chances.

·              Requires the game to comply with any licensing or regulatory requirements by the jurisdiction in which it is operated.

·              Specifies that a player must be at least 18 years of age in order to be eligible to win prizes.

·              Repeals this section October 1, 2004.
