HB 2331 changes Arizona’s community property law by stipulating that credit card transactions will only bind the community if both: the credit card is issued in the names of both spouses and both spouses have signed the credit application form.
HB 2331 failed to pass the Judiciary Committee.
In Arizona, property acquired during a marriage is presumed to be community property, with each spouse having an undivided half interest. Each spouse may separately acquire, manage, control or dispose of community property or bind the community without joining the other spouse.
