HB 2310 allows the use of monies in Arizona Correctional Industries (ACI) revolving fund to be used for out-of-state travel.
Current Status
HB 2310 was amended in the Public Institutions & Rural Affairs Committee to allow the ACI revolving fund to be used for capital asset acquisition and replacement and for working capital and capital necessary for the establishment of new business.
Current law allows the director of the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) to establish an ACI revolving fund to pay for various expenses. These expenses include in-state travel for ACI employees. Other expenses include the compensation of prisoners and ACI professional and outside services, the construction or reconstruction of facilities and other operating expenses. Monies deposited in the ACI revolving fund derive from the operation of ACI, including monies from the sale of obsolete or unneeded materials, supplies, equipment or property.
