HB 2282 defines the terms another person and other person for purposes of the crime of identity theft.  A strike-everything amendment is proposed that removes the definition and removes the element of proving economic loss from the crime of identity theft.

 

History

ARS 13-2001 formerly defined victim as a person whose personal identifying information is taken or used without consent, whether or not an economic loss occurs.  Laws 2001, chapter 113 amended Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-2001 to exclude the definition of the term victim because the term was not used in the section.

 

Provisions
