HB 2238 requires that the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) shall issue Navajo Nation special license plates.

 

 

Provisions

·                      Stipulates that if the Navajo Nation, by June 30, 2003, pays ADOT $32,000 for plate production and implementation costs, ADOT shall issue Navajo Nation special plates.

·                      Specifies that of the $25 fee, eight dollars is a special plate administration fee and seventeen dollars is an annual donation.

·                      Stipulates that MVD shall deposit all special plate administration fees into the state highway fund and all of the donations to the Navajo Nation Department of Highway Safety.

·                      Authorizes the Navajo nation to use these monies only for traffic control devices on highways on the Navajo reservation that are located in this state and that are not state highways.

·                      Makes technical and conforming changes.
