HB 2226 creates a two-tiered retirement system within ASRS. A Strike-Everything amendment will be offered in the Retirement and Government Operations Committee to require consumer reporting agencies to provide each consumer, upon request, with one complete complimentary copy of their consumer’s report per year.

History

Consumer reporting agencies conduct evaluations and/or assemble consumer credit information for concerned third parties. This information is compiled into consumer reports, which provide information about consumers’ credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, credit character and credit reputation. This information is used to establish a consumer’s eligibility for various loans and employment positions. Consumer reports may be provided in oral, written or any other communication form.

 

Provisions

A Strike-Everything amendment will be offered to HB 2226 with the following provisions:

§         Authorizes consumer reporting agencies, upon request, to provide one complete complimentary copy of their consumer’s report to each consumer per year.
