HB 2207 makes various changes to current statute that outlines how maps or plats are recorded.

Current Status

HB 2207 was amended in the Counties & Municipalities Committee to clarify that a map or plat shall have a type point of at least eleven.

The Counties & Municipalities Committee amendment was adopted in the Committee of the Whole.

History

A.R.S. § 11-481 outlines the procedures for recording maps or plats.  Currently, statute stipulates that a map or plat, excluding a map or plat of a subdivision, shall be on a sheet or sheets measuring eighteen by twenty-four inches and drawn to a scale not to exceed four hundred feet to the inch.  Additionally, Current statute states that all maps or plats presented for recording shall have a title that at least indicates the name of the subdivision or area and the location of the area by section, township and range.

Provisions

·              Permits maps or plats, other than maps or plats of a subdivision, to measure either twenty-four by thirty-six inches or eighteen by twenty-four inches and to be drawn to an accurate scale.

·              Specifies that all maps or plats presented for recording shall include a title that indicates the type of map or plat and shall have a place for the recorder’s information and seal block.

·              Makes other technical and conforming changes.

Amendments

HB 2207 was amended in the Counties & Municipalities Committee as follows:

·          Clarifies that a map or plat shall have a type point of at least eleven.
