HB 2206 permits a fire district to enforce a fire code of a municipality that is different from the Uniform Fire Code (UFC).

History

Current law stipulates a fire district may be created when a district impact statement is submitted to the county board of supervisors of the county where the majority of the district would reside. Upon approval of the impact statement, the petitioner for the creation is required to obtain more than half of the signatures of all the qualified voters, property owners and persons owning more than half of the value of property within the boundaries of the proposed district.

Current statute stipulates that a fire district may assist the state fire marshal in the enforcement of fire protection standards of this state within the fire district including enforcement of the UFC.

Provisions
