HB 2113 makes a technical correction to the Arizona Poison Control System funding statute.

A strike-everything amendment will be offered in the Health Committee with the following provisions:

The strike-everything amendment expands the oversight of the Human Rights Committee on the Mentally Ill to include non-seriously mentally ill persons who receive behavioral health treatment through the Department of Health Services.

History

Laws 2000, Chapter 35, established three human rights committees within the Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Department of Economic Security to promote the rights of persons who receive services.

The DHS Human Rights Committee on the Mentally Ill currently provides services for seriously mentally ill persons.  The strike-everything amendment adds non-seriously mentally ill persons that are treated by Regional Behavioral Health Authorities to the committee.
