Creates an opportunity for the Director of the Department of Agriculture to sell items labeled with the “Arizona Grown” trademark and deposit revenues received into the Commodity Promotion Fund.

 

History

The Arizona Department of Agriculture was established to provide a uniform and coordinated agricultural program and policy in Arizona. The Commodity Development and Promotion (CD&P) office was created to help reach the Arizona Department of Agriculture’s goals. Through marketing, CD&P supports the production of Arizona’s agricultural products in domestic and international sales.

 

The “Arizona Grown” logo was created for promotional reasons to be printed on various items and products. Currently, the Department is not authorized to sell these items and products.

 

Provisions

·          Allows the Director of the Department of Agriculture to sell products labeled with the “Arizona Grown” trademark.

·          Provides that monies from the sale of “Arizona Grown” trademarked products shall be deposited in the Commodity Promotion Fund.  The interest earned on fund investments shall remain in the fund.
