HB 2058 makes an appropriation for a Navajo code talkers monument.

 

Current status

HB 2058 was amended in the Native American Affairs Committee to change the monument from a Navajo code talkers monument to a Native American code talkers monument.   

HB 2058 was amended in the Military, Veterans’ Affairs and Aviation Committee to strike the amount of the appropriation.

 

Provisions

·                      Appropriates $100,000 from the state general fund in fiscal year 2002-03 to the Department of Administration.

·                      Provides that the appropriated money shall be used for the establishment of a Navajo code talkers monument in Wesley Bolin plaza.

·                      Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.

 

Amendments

HB 2058 was amended in the Native American Affairs Committee as follows:

·        Provides that the appropriated money shall be used for the establishment of a Native American code-talkers monument, instead of a Navajo code talkers monument.

HB 2058 was amended in the Military, Veterans’ Affairs and Aviation Committee as follows:

·        Strikes the $100,000 appropriation amount.
