HB 2051 expands the list of eligible funded projects through the School Facilities Board to included specific expenses in Indian reservation schools.

 HB 2051 passed the Native American Affairs Committee unamended.

 

History

The purpose of the school facilities board is to evaluate the capital needs of school districts and to distribute monies to school districts for the purpose of curing existing deficiencies, for building renewal and for the construction of new facilities.

 

 

Provisions

·          Expands the list of eligible funded projects through the deficiencies correction fund, the building renewal fund and new school facilities fund to include the following projects on Indian reservation schools:

·          teacher housing

·          transportation expenses associated with extreme road conditions

·          construction or renovation of athletic and recreational fields

·          soil preparation

·          utilities, including treatment plants

·          construction and permit fees

·          construction of roadway access routes to school facilities

·          excessive construction or renovation costs

·          Makes technical and conforming changes.
