AN ACT
REPEALING SECTION 41-3002.20, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES; AMENDING TITLE 41, CHAPTER 27, ARTICLE 2, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, BY ADDING SECTION 41-3007.10; RELATING TO THE AUTOMOBILE THEFT AUTHORITY.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Repeal
Section 41-3002.20, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 2. Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3007.10, to read:
41-3007.10. Automobile theft authority; termination July 1, 2007
A. THE AUTOMOBILE THEFT AUTHORITY TERMINATES ON JULY 1, 2007.
B. TITLE 41, CHAPTER 31 IS REPEALED ON JANUARY 1, 2008.
Sec. 3. Purpose
The purpose of the automobile theft authority is to provide assistance to law enforcement with funding and programs to reduce the incidence of automobile theft.
Sec. 4. Retroactivity
Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to January 1, 2002.
