Purpose
Appropriates $500,000 and
seven full time equivalent positions in FY 2001-2002 and $1.5 million and 15.9
full time equivalent positions in FY
2002-2003 from the state general fund to the University of Arizona for
expanding the south campus learning center.
Background
Cochise College and the
College of Nursing, University of Arizona South are entering into an
educational partnership to address the shortage of nurses with advanced
training in the health care community of southern Arizona. In addressing the
need for trained nurses. The program combines on-site and interactive television
courses with faculty and support personnel. S.B. 1508 provides funding for
student and faculty technology and travel costs for training students in
under-served rural communities.
S.B. appropriates $500,000
and seven full time equivalent positions in each of FY 2001-2002 and $1.5 million and 1.59 full time
equivalent positions in FY 2002-2003 from the state general fund to the
University of Arizona for expanding the south campus access learning center.

million and 15.9 full time equivalent positions in FY 2002-2003 from the state
general fund to the University of Arizona for expanding the south campus access
learning center. Reverts the
unencumbered or unexpended monies on June 30, 2005 to the state general fund.
