FACT SHEET FOR S.B. 1340

 

appropriation; Navajo roadwork

 

Purpose

 

Appropriates $150,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-2002 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) for roadwork on the Navajo Nation.

 

Background

 

The Head Start facility for the Tsaile/Wheatfields Chapter of the Navajo Nation was condemned and demolished last fall.  Construction for the new facility, which includes a senior citizens center, will begin in March 2001. 

 

S.B. 1340 appropriates $150,000 to pave a public parking lot, an entrance road and sewer work for the new Head Start and senior citizen center facility for the Tsaile/Wheatfields Chapter of the Navajo Nation.

 

Provisions

 

1.      Appropriates $150,000 to ADOT from the state general fund in FY 2001-2002 for paving an entrance road, parking lot and sewer work for the Tsaile/Wheatfields Chapter of the Navajo Nation.

 

2.      Exempts appropriation from lapsing.

 

3.      Provides for a general effective date.
