Purpose
Adds
charter schools to the existing statute that prohibits the influence of
elections using school resources or employees.
Background
Arizona
law currently prohibits school districts from using personnel, equipment,
materials, buildings or other resources to influence the outcome of
elections. Charter schools are not
specifically mentioned in the statute.
S.B. 1056 adds charter schools into this section of the law.
There is no fiscal impact associated with this bill.
Provisions
1. Adds charter schools to the existing statute that
prohibits the influence of elections using school resources or employees.
2. Makes conforming and technical changes.
3. Provides for a general effective date.
