ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Phoenix, Arizona
early ballot requests; due
date
Requires early ballot
request forms to state the last date and time that an early ballot can be
received by the county recorder.
State statute allows for any
elector to request an early ballot for any election called pursuant to state
law. Such requests must include the
elector’s name, address and date of birth, state or country of birth or other
information that if compared to voter registration information would confirm
the identity of the elector. Per
statute, a ballot must be received by the county recorder or other officer in
charge of elections or must be deposited at any polling place in the county no
later than 7:00 p.m. on election day in order to be counted and valid.
The fiscal impact of this
legislation is undetermined.
1. Requires early ballot request forms that are prepared and distributed by a candidate or a political committee to clearly state the last date and time provided by law for an early ballot for that election to be received by the county recorder.
2. Provides for a general effective date.
