SB 1532 makes an appropriation to the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) for a dormitory and an operational support building at the Project Challenge campus.

History

Project Challenge is a school for high school students operated by the Arizona National Guard. The program equips youth with life skills and offers classes to fulfill requirements for the General Equivalency Diploma.

Provisions

· Appropriates $250,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-02 to DEMA for a dormitory and an operational support building at the Project Challenge campus.

· Exempts the appropriation from lapsing until June 30, 2004.

SB 1532 passed the Military, Veteran Affairs and Aviation Committee unamended.
