SB 1270 requires the Arizona Schools for the Deaf and
Blind to conduct fingerprinting background checks on paid and nonpaid school
personnel, but eliminates the requirement that the personnel have class one or
class two fingerprint clearance cards.
History
Laws 1998, chapter 270 requires
the personnel at state schools to participate in the fingerprinting clearance
card process administered by the Division of Fingerprinting within the DPS (ARS
41-1758). Under this statute, a person
may receive a class one fingerprint clearance card if they have not committed
any of the offences listed in 14-1758.03.
A class one fingerprint clearance card is required to teach mentally
disabled students.
