As Passed the House

Reduces, from 25 to 20, the years of service required for normal retirement for members of the Corrections Officer Retirement Plan (CORP).

The proposed strike-everything amendment to SB 1176 allows a title to a vacated roadway to be conveyed to some of the owners of the abutting land if it does not result in elimination of legal access for those who do not receive title and exempts the governing body from receiving payment for the conveyance of the roadway.

Provisions

·                      Allows a city or town to convey title to an entire vacated roadway to some of the owners if the conveyance does not result in elimination of legal access for the abutting landowners who do not receive title to the vacated roadway.

·                      Exempts the governing body from receiving payment from the landowners holding title to the vacated roadway or the landowner’s predecessors in interest if the roadway was acquired by an eminent domain action or by an agreement made in lieu of an acquisition by eminent domain.

·                      Clarifies that a roadway may be vacated if an established private road connects the land adjoining the roadway with another established public roadway.
