Expands the powers and duties of the Department of Veterans’ Services (DVS).

Provisions

· Permits the DVS to acquire property for, construct and operate a Veterans’ Home Facility in southern Arizona.

· Appropriates $50,000 from the state general fund in FY 2001-02 to the DVS to begin negotiations with the federal government for a southern Arizona veterans’ home.

· Exempts the appropriation from lapsing until June 30, 2004.
