This bill as introduced contains an Appropriation clause.

As Passed the House

SB 1104 appropriates $500,000 to DEQ from the general fund for deposit in the underground storage tank (UST) revolving fund assurance account (SAF) for area A (Maricopa county) for FY 2002-2003.

History

The 1993 special session on air quality (41st legislature, 6th special session) transferred monies over several years from the UST revolving fund to the emissions inspection fund and the public transportation fund.  There have been several appropriations from the general fund to the SAF in the past several years as a reimbursement.   Some of the recently enacted measures have been:  Laws of 1999, chapter 173 appropriated $500,000 in FY 00 and $1,300,000 in FY 01 and Laws of 2000, chapter 354  appropriated $250,000 in FY 01.  (The total amount of the transfers resulting from the 1993 legislation was approximately $19 million; the amount remaining to be reimbursed is approximately $12.4 million.)

Provisions

·                       The money is to be used only for paying partial coverage of corrective action costs;  the appropriation shall not be used for administrative costs.

·                      Unexpended and unencumbered monies remaining after June 30, 2004 would revert to the general fund.
