SB 1021 removes from statute the requirement that the Director of the Department of Insurance (DOI) must pre-approve solicitation materials, which include advertising and sales material of prepaid dental plans and health care service organizations (HCSO). 

 

History

The legislature amended Laws 2000, Chapter 37 by repealing the requirement that the Director pre-approve the solicitation and advertising materials of hospital and medical service corporations, dental service corporations and optometric service corporations before such materials were distributed.

 

Provisions

·                      Eliminates the requirement that the Director must pre-approve the marketing material of dental plan organizations and HCSOs before distribution to consumers.

·                      Establishes a general effective date.

 

SB 1021 passed the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee unamended.
