HB 2562 changes the penalties for specific categories involving misconduct involving weapons.

 

History

 

Current law specifies that the following offences involving a concealed deadly weapon bear the penalty of a Class 1 misdemeanor: carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a concealed weapons permit with the exception of a pocket knife and carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a concealed weapons permit within the immediate control of any person in or on a means of transportation.

 

Provisions

·        Changes the penalty for carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a concealed weapons permit and carrying a concealed deadly weapon without a concealed weapons permit that is within the immediate control of any person in or on a means of transportation from a Class 1 misdemeanor to a petty offense, not to exceed $50.00.
