HB 2560 provides that an election to form a joint technological education district may be held the second Tuesday in March, the third Tuesday in May, the eighth Tuesday before the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November or the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

 

History

Joint technological education districts (JTED) provide vocational training to students enrolled in participating school districts. A joint technological education district can serve several school districts grades nine through twelve.  Currently there are eight Joint Technological Education School Districts in the state of Arizona. The question to form joint technological education districts can only be submitted to the voters at a general election.

 

Provisions

·                      Provides that the State Board for Vocational and Technological Education may be held at any election date prescribed in section 16-204.

 

·                      Contains an Emergency clause that provides that if two-thirds of the Legislature approve this measure it is effective upon the Governor’s signature.
