Provisions
· The state fire safety committee shall adopt by rule minimum standards for mandatory electronic filing and reporting for a statewide database that contains information from national and international uniform fire codes, MSDS and hazardous material plans. The standards would be developed after research and review. The database shall be developed in cooperation with the Arizona Emergency Response Commission (AZERC) and information from the database shall be made available to local fire departments and other public safety agencies. (ARS 41-2146)
· Other additional components of the state fire code shall include: compliance with the hazardous materials management plan and the hazardous materials inventory statement requirements of the international fire code (12th edition); and, requiring local fire protection jurisdictions to report annually to the state fire marshal on the number and type of fires that occurred in their jurisdiction for the preceding year. · The toxic chemical release inventory number as prescribed by section 313 of EPCRA.
(ARS 26-350).
· The time period for the update and submission of a revised list or MSDS to the local emergency planning committee, AZERC and the fire department with jurisdiction over the facility is reduced from 90 days to 60 days when the owner/operator of a facility has significant new information or obtains a new hazardous chemical subject to reporting requirements. · The state fire safety committee shall adopt by rule a fee for annual renewal of a permit. (ARS 41-2146)
