HB 2419 amends election laws regarding informational pamphlets that are mailed to voters pertaining to bond propositions in counties, cities, and towns.

 

Provisions

·                      Reduces the time allowed to submit arguments for or against initiatives and referendums in counties, towns and cities by 30 days.

 

·                      Requires the governing body or board of a political subdivision to include arguments for and against the authorization of bond propositions in informational pamphlets

 

·                      Requires that pamphlets be mailed out in time to accommodate early voting.  Stipulates that if the pamphlets are not mailed out before the earliest date for receipt of a requested early ballot, notice shall be provided of when the pamphlets shall be mailed and where and when pamphlets may be accessed or viewed.

 

·                      Makes technical and conforming changes.
