HB 2419 amends election laws regarding informational
pamphlets that are mailed to voters pertaining to bond propositions in
counties, cities, and towns.
Provisions
·Reduces the time allowed to submit arguments for or
against initiatives and referendums in counties, towns and cities by 30 days.
·Requires the governing body or board of a political
subdivision to include arguments for and against the authorization of bond
propositions in informational pamphlets that are sent to voters, if authorized
by the governing body.
·Makes technical and conforming changes.
HB 2419 was amended in the Judiciary
Committee as follows:
·Removes language regarding authorization of governing
bodies.
HB Judiciary Committee amendment was
adopted in the Committee of the Whole.
