HB 2406 contains a conditional appropriation of up to $6 million in FY 2001-02 from the state general fund to the Department of Economic Security (DES) for social service block grant funding if the federal funding level of the social service block grant is less than $1,777,500,000.

· States that the appropriation is exempt from lapsing.

HB 2406 was amended in the Human Services Committee by removing the conditional requirement for the appropriation.
