HB 2391 increases the licensing application, reciprocity and renewal fees for the Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The bill establishes higher standards for licensing examinations and specifies grounds for denying licensing examinations to applicants who have engage in unprofessional conduct.

 

Provisions

·                      Allows the Board to refuse to issue an examination to an applicant that has committed an act that is grounds for censure, probation, suspension or revocation of a license. Current statute requires that the applicant not have engaged in conduct constituting grounds for sanction within the previous two years.

·                      Increases the application fee from $100 to $250.

·                      Authorizes the Board to issue a license to an applicant who correctly answers 75 per cent of all sections of the examination.  Current statute requires the applicant correctly answer 60 per cent of the questions in each section for a combined score of 75 per cent. 

·                      Requires that an applicant currently holding a license to practice in another state or country to pay a $100 fee to be issued a license in Arizona.

·                      Allows the Board to charge an annual license renewal fee up to $200. The renewal fee is currently $100.

·                      Requires licensed chiropractors to notify the Board in writing of a telephone number change within 30 days.

·                      Makes technical corrections.
