HB 2343 provides statewide tests are exempt from the public records law and shall only be made public pursuant to the State Board of Education’s rules.

 

Provisions

·                      Provides that statewide tests are exempt from the public records law before the test is given.

 

·                      Requires the State Board of Education to adopt rules that set forth requirements to allow parents of pupils and the general public to view the tests.

 

·                      Provides the rules to include procedures to prohibit pupils required to take the tests from viewing the tests before those tests are administered to them.

 

·                      Provides that the rules prohibit the duplication of those tests and any other activities that would violate the copyright protection of the copyright holders of the tests and the related testing materials.

 

HB 2343 failed to pass the Education Committee.
