As Passed the House

The Committee on Commerce and Economic Development adopted a strike-everything amendment to HB 2330 as follows:

History

The Arizona State Board of Accountancy (ASBA) consists of seven members who are appointed by the Governor to serve five-year terms.  The Board is comprised of five Certified Public Accountant (CPA’s) and two public members.

The ASBA regulates certified public accountants and public accountants to ensure they conduct themselves in accordance with the Accountancy Board statutes and rules.  The Board processes applications and administers examinations, certifies applicants for licensure, reviews applications for biennial renewal of certificates and licenses certified public accountants, public accountant partnerships and professional corporations.

Provisions

·                      Increases the biennial registration fee caps for the Arizona State Board of Accountancy Fee Schedule to $300 and $600 (currently $100 and $300). The registration fee applies to certified public accountants, public accountants, partnerships, professional corporations and professional limited liability companies.

·                      Increases the maximum amount of money that the Board can collect for past due fees and penalties resulting from a registration suspension to $950 (currently $350 dollars).

·                      Contains a proposition 108.

The Committee on Commerce and Economic Development strike-everything amendment was adopted in the Committee of the Whole.
